At BSA we know what it takes to succeed. If you aspire to becoming a professional or just get better at football, your average 2 evenings a week club program is not even getting you close.
The modern game has evolved so much, that unless you have all the boxes in your game ticked, you cannot play at the highest level.
At BSA our programs Target the required areas.
To Succeed you need 5 assets to your game.
1. Technique
2. Tactical awareness
3. Speed
4. Strength
5. The right Mental attitude. |
Technique... is the ability to have mastery over the ball with or without pressure. If you have to think about how you are going to control the ball when it is on its way to you... then you lack technique! Control, movement, touch must all become second nature... something you are so comfortable with, that you dont think... you just do! This comfort and confidence only comes with repeated technical training. |
Tactical awareness... The modern game is played at a blindning pace. If you receive the ball in a game and then try to think of what you are going to do next, u will give away posession. You must be tactically sound in knowing what to do before the ball comes to you. Movement of the ball is a major factor in todays football. In a 90 minute game an average player has the ball for less than 3 minutes, so being able to play in different systems of play is essential to succeed. When trialling at big clubs around the world, you need to be tactically competent to be considered. You need to learn this at junior and youth level, because you will not be taught this by a senior coach who only gets paid to win games. |

Strength and conditioning... is making your body strong. All footballers need core strength. Core strength increses your speed and agility. Core work will also give u balance and turning ability, which are all a must in the modern game. Core strength gives you the ability to stand your ground on the pitch and not get pushed off the ball. |

Speed... Your speed will ultimately determine the level of football you will end up playing. Football speed is not the same as athletic track speed. Football requires quick reaction for short distances. explosiveness comes from training the fast twitch tissues in our bodies to respond quickly. There are many drills and techniques of running that gives you this improvement in football speed. |
|
The right mental attitude... Professionalism...'Everything you do must reflect who you want to be'.
Your Discipline...your focus...the way you look after your body and the way you conduct yourself. Your maturity, composure, the ability to handle failure and the ability to contribute to society will all be major factors in the difference between failure and success. |
